Become Part Of Our Family
When you join MenAlive you are doing more than just becoming part of a choral group, you are becoming part of a family. MenAlive strives to provide a welcoming atmosphere in which anyone will find opportunities for musical excellence, high quality performances, camaraderie, support, volunteerism, and lifelong friends.
Open auditions are at the begining of each show rehersal period in January, April, and September. Details for each audition will be posted on this website.

It is informal and relaxed and will take about 5-10 minutes. So do your best to relax!
You will meet with the Artistic Director and some members of our chorus leadership.
You will be asked to match pitch with notes played on the keyboard and to sing a song that is familiar to you. You may be asked to sing a few measures of an unfamiliar piece of music that we will provide.
After the audition, the Artistic Director will share his decision and any additional information.
MenAlive presents three main concerts every season, typically in December, March, and July. We rehearse every Tuesday night at 7:00PM for approximately 12 weeks prior to each concert. A few sectional and Saturday rehearsals may be called each concert period, and two dress rehearsals held the week of each concert. Also, if you tryout for any concert solos, Bel Canto or dance, there is additional rehearsal time for each.
Rehearsal attendance is key to the success of our shows and is managed by our administrative section leaders.
The membership dues for MenAlive are $100 per concert period. This covers the cost of your music, rehearsal CD, additional costuming, and the rehearsal venue. Scholarships are available upon request.
A tuxedo and accessories are also required for our performances. You may purchase or rent your tuxedo for a reasonable cost at many local shops.
Those who do not sing or cannot make the weekly rehearsal schedule are invited to join our volunteer fifth section, HeartsAlive. This non-singing group presents an opportunity for interested people to be members of the chorus and provide a wide range of essential support functions. HeartsAlive members handle many of the administrative tasks that are needed to keep us operating including concert assistance, production, front-of-house and backstage duties, outreach and much more. With our chorus members working more and more at outreach events, rehearsals and concerts, we need our HeartsAlive Volunteers to keep the blood pumping through our organization, thus the name HeartsAlive.
